Dental Appliances
Several dental appliances are available to protect your teeth from various issues. Stettler Dental offers custom-fitted night guards, retainers, and sports mouth guards for patients looking to maintain good oral health.
Night guards
If you have bruxism, a condition where you grind or clench your teeth at night, a night guard can be worn to prevent harm to your physical health. Night guards are simple appliances worn at night to prevent grinding and clenching in your sleep, so your bruxism won’t affect your oral health. If left unchecked, bruxism can cause headaches, jaw problems, and damage to your teeth.
Retainers
Retainers are typically needed as a follow-up treatment to braces. After braces have done the hard work of moving your teeth into their proper positions, a retainer will ensure that they stay there rather than shifting back. Retainers can be either fixed or removable and will need to be worn for at least a few months after your braces come off.
Sports Mouth Guards
We recommend sports mouth guards for anyone playing high-contact physical sports, like football or hockey. Wearing a mouth guard is crucial in protecting your teeth from trauma, particularly if you have other dental appliances like braces.
